Area 404: What and where is it?

For the past few years, Boomtown have owned a large warehouse at 126 Albert Road in Bristol. Up until now this has been used as offices and a production area for the festival. But starting from the 1st of October 2019, it will also have a license to be used as a live events venue.

Area 404 is nearby to Temple Meads and Motion

The warehouse was previously known as the “Trimite Powder Coatings Building“. But it has since been transformed into the headquarters for “Boomtown Events Ltd“. The official name for the new nightclub at the Boomtown warehouse has been announced as “Area 404”.

Below is a Google maps image of the warehouse, taken before it’s transformation into Area 404. Please note that the warehouse has been extensively refitted and refurbished since this photo was taken.

Boomtown organisers have said:

Brand new for Bristol, the minds and visionaries behind the UKs most immersive and theatrical festival will bring their jaw dropping levels of creativity back to where it all began 11 years ago, in their brand new permanent creative events space in Bristol, near Temple Meads train station.

Launching this Halloween, on Friday 1st and Saturday 2nd November, Boomtown are inviting people to ‘Explore the deserted industrial quadrant of AREA 404: an overgrown immersive, dystopia filled with lost souls and the half-living…’  for a nighttime festival experience beyond this world…

The warren like complex will house five rooms, permeating with the sounds that radiate from Boomtown’s very core… The main room will feature high energy live music , similar to those who’ve soundtracked the festival’s mainstages for the past decade. The medium and smaller rooms will host a perfect spectrum of reggae, techno, house, dnb and disco, ensuring the true Boomtown spirit is represented and brings people together in a huge melting pot of musical styles, theatrical exploration and creative endeavour.

What time and where is Boomtown Halloween?

Boomtown Halloween is the launch event for a brand new nightclub named “Area 404”. Due to huge demand, a second date has been added, and it will take place on both Friday the 1st and Saturday the 2nd of November 2019.

The event runs from 8pm until 4am both nights.

It is likely to be the first of many themed nights at Area 404, as it is licensed to hold as many as 24 events per year. However Source would like to highlight this number of public events per year is unlikely, as this total includes use of the venue for private parties and events too.

It is also licensed to stay open to 7am on NYE. We think that makes the prospect of a New Years party to top off 2019 quite likely.

How do I get tickets for Boomtown Halloween at Area 404?

Tickets go on sale at 7pm the 29th of August. The venue is licensed for up to 3,500 attendees per night.

Tickets cost £33 + Booking Fee. 6 tickets per transaction, this is an 18+ event.

Boomtown Source first published the news of this Halloween event on our Facebook page after we spotted it in the Boomtown 2019 programme. With no other official announcement coming directly from the festival until the 23rd of August, our post sent people into a frenzy and was shared thousands of times!

Based on the popularity of the post on our Facebook page, we predict this event will be a very hot ticket indeed. It is therefore very likely to sell out almost immediately. Follow Boomtown Source on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter for more updates as they become available. I’ll be keeping this page up to date as we find out more.

I’m thinking about my outfit already. Hope to see you all at the first ever Boomtown Halloween!

Big Love
